The protocols, the pause in early April, her team’s isolation, no crowds… winning a 22nd Big Ten title despite those limitations made the accomplishment resonate that much more. Then came COVID, and with it an adversity that made her 37th campaign a new experience entirely. Before this season, Carol Hutchins had coached Michigan through seemingly every kind of adversity in her long and storied career. ![]()
